On this visit to the CCVF, we'll delve into what lurks behind the scenes – the unseen, the offstage. We'll discover where the labyrinthine corridors lead, the hidden workshops, and other (almost) secret passageways that house memories and preserve the knowledge of the people working here. In this space, magic begins offstage, in the everyday life, in the delicate labor of those who, with care, prepare moments as ephemeral as they are unique. Throwing open the many doors of this place, where, as in theatre, many arts reside (music, dance, literature, painting, architecture, photography, cinema...), serves as a brief way to share the invisibilities that permeate it, turning the keys in the locks, peeking into the inner workings of gestures and the other side of walls.

mapping memories
The materials and content of this performative visit result from a work methodology akin to a documentary exercise. The aim was to construct the memory of this space through the collection of testimonies made in close collaboration with the different teams that make up the CCVF - personal, professional, and artistic testimonies. This methodology, close to oral history, served the purpose of gathering dramaturgical material capable of retelling a narrative belonging to a place and its community. From the attentive listening of all those who were challenged to share memories and knowledge, the contents, images, and atmospheres of this performative visit are born.
